The University of Tennessee’s Department of Conferences formed a Green Team in early 2008 to support “Make Orange Green,” a comprehensive program that promotes and coordinates environmental stewardship activities university-wide.
UT Conferences actively supports “Make Orange Green” by:
1) identifying ways to minimize impact resulting from events it hosts; and
2) identifying products and recycling opportunities to reduce negative environmental impacts resulting from the operation of the UT Conference Center in downtown Knoxville.
UT Conferences also pledges to effectively communicate its sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices in hopes of influencing other campus departments to join the effort.
